MicaSense is expanding its regional sales team with a focus on the high-value crop regions of California. We are seeing a growing demand for our state-of-the-art multispectral sensors and data processing solutions throughout the west coast, and we have numerous prospects and strategic business opportunities that are located within the state of California. Position Overview: The Regional Sales Manager is a customer-facing role with frequent travel that includes consultative sales with growers, service providers and many other members of the agriculture value chain to understand their problems and provide viable solutions based on MicaSense technology; on-site demonstrations of MicaSense products and services; conference and trade-show exhibitions; account management of system integrators, service providers, and other value-added resellers (VAR’s) within the assigned territory.
Responsibilities: Define and execute a strategy to meet sales objectives within the geographic territory and/or channels, and then meet and exceed sales goals and strategic objectives through prospecting, qualifying, managing and closing sales opportunities within the assigned region.
- Expand the number of customer accounts of all sizes in the region
- Nurture and strengthen existing customer accounts in the region through customer support, demonstrations and workshops - Provide regular reporting of pipeline and forecast through the CRM system - Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues and products - Travel: 40%-60%
- Experienced Sales Professional: 5-10 years direct sales or consulting experience with agriculture services, precision agriculture sensors, and/or field applications experience in California - Comprehensive understanding of the overall agricultural value chain (high-value crop management practices, inputs required, technology used, processing, etc.) in California is required - Sales and service mindset. You have a desire to be in constant contact with prospects and customers and to engage them with solution-oriented selling - Ability to develop and manage a sales pipeline and provide detailed trip reports and insights based on customer feedback and competitive intelligence - Team-player--good attitude about working on a diverse set of projects with the rest of the sales team - Experience in diligent use of a CRM software a plus - Experience providing customer service, sales, or support of cloud software and services a plus; understanding of aerial imaging or other sensor technologies a plus - Experience cold calling and engaging new prospects a plus - Demonstrated experience as a key contributor to a sales team; ability to initiate and foster long-term customer relationships with strategic customers - Excellent Communication.
