Montana State University-Eastern Agricultural Research Center is searching for a Research Associate. This research associate position will be under the supervision of the Professor of Cropping Systems/Agronomy at the Eastern Ag Research Center in Sidney, MT. The person in this position will assist in the design, establishment, and maintenance of field studies, following accepted scientific protocol, to serve the specific needs of clientele in the Mondak region.The individual works under the supervision of the PI, but is expected to demonstrate initiative in carrying out the duties of this position. Main responsibilities include, but not limited to:
1. Participate in experimental design. 2. Organize and implement field, greenhouse, and laboratory experiments according to experimental protocols. 3. Collect, archive, and analyze data. 4. Participate in writing reports and publications. 5. Participate in writing grant proposals.
1. B.S. or M.S. in Agronomy, Soil Science, or closely related disciplines and applicable experience 2. Field and greenhouse experience in agronomic crops, including experimental design, field plot layout, establishment, fertilization, irrigation, pest management, precision harvesting of experimental plots, and grain cleaning, and processing. 3. Experience in measuring, collecting, and recording of responsive variables and the associated data management and analysis. 4. Experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and statistical software. 5. Experience in operating field and laboratory instrument.
