Post Doctoral Scholar in Root Biology

Postdoctoral Position in Root Biology at Penn State. A postdoctoral position will be available early in 2021 to research a novel root anatomical trait in maize, wheat, and other cereals that improves penetration of hard soil, thereby increasing rooting depth, N capture, water capture and C sequestration. Research will include physiological analysis in the greenhouse and field, genetic analysis in maize, and studies of root decomposition in soil. For information contact Jonathan Lynch, JPL4@psu.edu.

Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate field. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks. This is a fixed-term position funded for one year from date of hire with an excellent possibility of renewal. This position will be located at Penn State in University Park, PA.
