The University of Wisconsin Madison, Agricultural Research Stations is seeking a motivated, collaborative thinker to serve as the Greenhouse Operations Manager. This fast paced, service centered position will require someone with advanced problem-solving skills to ensure a wide array of scientists and students have their needs continually met. The Greenhouse Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising all activities associated with the greenhouse facilities and for overseeing a small team of employees to ensure the team is working efficiently to provide quality plant growing space for research and instruction. The selected candidate will preferably have experience managing greenhouse operations and demonstrated success in managing teams to achieve a common goal. A Bachelors Degree is required, Masters Degree preferred. A minimum of three years experience working in a greenhouse management role is required. Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a valid Wisconsin pesticide applicator license in the appropriate categories is necessary. A drivers license that meets UW Risk Management standards will be needed. Knowledge of how to utilize computer and IT resources is essential for success in this position. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk on concrete surface for majority of working day.
