Three PhD Openings at the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Texas A&M University
Three PhD GRAs are available at TAMU, College Station. The first position is focused on a USDA-BRAG funded study on understanding gene flow between grain sorghum and johnsongrass. The student will be co-advised by Drs. Muthukumar Bagavathiannan (Weed Science) and William Rooney (Sorghum Breeding). The aim of the second position is to evaluate weed seed impact mills (Redekop and iHSD) as a harvest weed seed control strategy in on-farm trials. This position is funded by a multi-state NRCS-CIG grant, and the student will closely collaborate with members of GROW (www.growiwm.org).The third position pertains to digital weed science, with emphasis on computer vision and robotic actuators for weed detection and site-specific management.
