Weslaco Research and Extension Center The Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center at Weslaco was established in 1923 in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. The center serves the local community through scientific research, public outreach, extension, and education programs, and collaborates with other AgriLife Research and Extension Centers throughout the state. Center faculty and scientists address research needs related to subtropical agriculture and the environment.
