Seeking a dependable and enthusiast individual to assist with research on cropping systems in eastern MT. This research is focused on production of crops common to eastern Montana and western North Dakota. Duties will include assisting in the collection and processing of plant and soil samples from field or greenhouse studies. Maintaining field research sites under the direction of permanent personnel by controlling weeds, mowing grass, etc. May also assist permanent personnel with calibrating and operating farming equipment or assist with analyzing plant and soil samples in a laboratory. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience with agricultural methods and sampling techniques of both plants and soil.
The candidate must be 18 years old, a US citizen with a valid driver's license. Additionally, the candidate should be physically fit and comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions. Experience working as a farm hand, operating farming equipment, or assisting with maintenance of agricultural fields AND/OR experience working in agricultural field research is preferred but not required.
