Soil Health LTARE Coordinator
Summary of Duties The incumbent will coordinate a multidisciplinary group of research, Extension, and stakeholders to implement a new Long-term Washington Soil Health Tree Fruit Agricultural Research and Extension project. The goal of this project is to evaluate management systems which optimize tree fruit yield and quality through sustainable soil health management practices. The project will install a 7.5-acre Tree Fruit Long-term Research Orchard Experiment to establish best management practices, identify methods to reduce variability in orchards using organic matter amendments, study practices to reduce disorders related to environmental stress, investigate soil health strategies which conserve water and buffer environmental stress in the face of climate chan
